TERRELL — The Texas Xtreme semi professional football team defeated the Kaufman County Colt 45s Saturday in an early afternoon game in Terrell by a score of 18-0.

Xtreme coaches Gary Craig and Larry Anding were pleased with their team’s performance despite strong wind conditions. Xtreme quarterback Marcus Bowman completed 4-of-12 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Thompson caught touchdown passes of 36 and 52 yards and Angel Nava added both extra point attempts. Leading rushers were Jamon Edwards with 56 yards on seven carries, Brandon Thompson picked up 50 yards on seven carries and newcomer Torrie McLemore added 25 yards on five carries.

The Xtreme rushing attack gained 176 yards on 28 carries. Offensive standouts were Victor Moore, Chris Ross, Adrian Gonzalez, Jerry Martin, Ike Coleman (playing in his second game) and newcomer Kendrick Wilson. Starting offensive players Ben Swain, Zack Newman, and Boo Beechum were unavailable for the game.

Defensively, the Xtreme defense was dominant. The Colt 45s offense completed 2-of-7 passes for 27 yards, and was a minus 36 rushing yards on 22 carries for a game total of -9 yards offensively. Defensive starters Tamorian Hines, All American linebacker Lontreio Osborn, and leading sacker John Litchfiled were unavailable. Litchfiled is expected to return Saturday after missing three games with broken ribs. After missing last week’s game starting cornerback Clifton Wimbush started the game but left the game early after re-aggravating his previous injury. Defensive standouts were Carlos Blackshire with one fumble recovery, Kerry Yarbrough with one sack and a two-point safety, Flim Kindle with one sack and a two-point safety, Brandon Lyons with one interception, Lance Powell two sacks, and Nico Adams with one interception bringing his league leading total to nine.

Other defensive standouts were Jerry Martin, Jason Anding, Reggie Calhoun, Jose Lopez, and newcomers Chris Bowman and Harlan Alexander.

Every Xtreme player found playing time in the game. The Xtreme will travel to Carrollton on Saturday to take on the undefeated Dallas Chargers.
