Most folks who travel here only wish they could have this kind of fortune.
The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals scored a 79-60 win over Bossier Parrish Community College Thursday in a game pushed back a day due to winter weather.
Not only did Head Coach Pat Smith’s Cardinals get the win to stay hot, but Navarro and Paris both lost Thursday. TVCC will enter Saturday’s game against Angelina with a two-game lead over Navarro and Paris, who remain tied for second.
“This was a good road win for us,” said Smith, whose team has won eight of its last nine games — all conference victories.
Against BPCC, the Cardinals hit a season-high 14 three-pointers. Daniel Ehambe had four of them and finished with 17 points to lead TVCC. Tim Harrison hit three from beyond the arc and scored 15, and Darius Gatson netted 13 points to go along with nine assists.
The Cardinals (21-4, 10-4 in Region XIV Conference) led at the half, 37-25.
Saturday’s game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The TVCC Lady Cardinals, coming off a six-day break, will face Angelina in a 2 p.m. start.
