The Brownsboro Bears wrapped up Spring Break week with a big 8-7 walk-off win over the Spring Hill Panthers in the non-district finale on Friday afternoon.
Both teams changed the lead five different times after jumping out to a 6-0 lead through the fifth inning.
After Spring Hill scored seven runs of their own in the top of the inning, Brownsboro finished the game with an RBI-single by Caleb Seale scoring Landon Mason from third for the winning run.
Seale finished the game 1-for-4, while Mason was 2-for-4 with three RBI’s and one run scored.
He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Tanner Wilson went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
Brownsboro also had seven stolen bases in the win.
Jake Connor got the win in relief allowing no runs in one inning of work.
He came on for starter Casey Pelton — who allowed seven runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
Two of those runs were earned and he struck out three batters and walked two.
Three runs gave the Brownsboro Bears Varsity a leg up after neither team scored for most of the game.
Brownsboro scored on a fielder’s choice and an error in the fourth inning for a 3-0 lead.
Brownsboro scored three more runs in the fifth inning before Spring Hill scored took the lead in the top of the seventh inning.
Against Brook Hill, the Bears dropped a a 12-3 loss to the Brook Hill Guard on Tuesday afternoon in Bullard.
Cody Dodds went 2-for-3 at the plate, with two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.
Ryan Covington took the loss for Brownsboro. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out none.
BHS was able to score a run in the top of the third inning as a groundout by Covington scored Dodds from third for the 2-1 deficit.
Brownsboro tacked on a run in the top of the fifth that closed their deficit to 6-2 but they could get any closer.
An RBI single by Covington drove in Dodds from third after he reached on a one-out double. He advanced to third on a passed ball.
Brownsboro scored one more run in the sixth inning as Tanner Wilson drove in Toby Davis for the 7-3 deficit.
Mason went 2-for-4, while Casey Pelton, Caleb Seale, Tyler Thomison, Davis and Wilson had one hit each for the Bears.
Against Gilmer, the Bears picked up a 5-4 win in Gilmer as Thomison picked up the complete game win.
Thomison allowed four runs on five hits. He struck out seven batters and walked seven.
Austin Fout had two extra-base hits for the Brownsboro. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.
With Brownsboro 2-0 in the top of the second, they scored three runs of their own to take the lead.
They scored on an RBI single by Seale, an RBI single by Thomison, and an RBI single by Tanner Wilson.
Fout went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Bears.
The Bears will open District 15-3A play Tuesday night hosting the Mabank Panthers.
They will wrap up the week on Friday with a district contest at Mineola.
First pitch for both games is set for 6:30 p.m.
