The Eustace seventh and eighth grade teams wrapped up the regular season with a split against Troup Monday night.

In the eighth grade game, Eustace won 31-20, while the seventh grade lost 30-28.

In the eighth grade win, Eustace was led in scoring by Jarrett Marcom with 10 points.

Tucker Reeve had seven, Blake Martin and Jayson Losiewicz each had four and Ethan Austin had three. Matt Hagood had two points and Shawn Holt had one point.

Eustace ended district play with an 8-2 record.

In the seventh grade loss, the Bulldogs were led by Trent West with eight, Cooper Cates with seven, Marquavius Griffin with five and Ryan Perry and Peyton Sweet with four each.  

Eustace wrapped up district with a 1-9 record.

Both teams will compete in the district tournament Saturday in Eustace.

Eustace lifters finish strong in Palestine

The Eustace powerlifting teams finished strong at the Palestine tournament Saturday.

In the girls division, the Lady Bulldogs finished fifth in the team standings led by Sunni Goodell in first place, Makayla Mitchell and Raini Goodell were second. Anna Gaddis was fifth and Destiany Binkley was sixth.

In the boys division, the Bulldogs finished fourth overall. They were led by Zach Hughes in first, Quentin Parks in second, Clay Hinkle and Ethan Hoops in third and Keenan Hargest in fourth.

Juan Garcia was sixth, J.J. Hughes was eighth and Michael Roch was ninth.

The Bulldogs will compete in the Wills Point meet Saturday.
