All the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals can do is wait and watch.

Though they need a lot of help, the Cardinals (2-7) are still alive for a Southwest Junior College Football Con-ference playoff berth. TVCC is open this week as conference play comes to an end.

The Cardinals need all three games Saturday to go their way. If so, they would enter the playoffs as the No. 4 seed and travel to Brenham next week to go against No. 3-ranked Blinn College.

TVCC would make the playoffs as the No. 4 seed if:

• Blinn beats Navarro.

• Cisco beats Kilgore.

• Tyler beats NEO.

That would mean:

• Blinn No. 1 seed at 6-0

• Cisco No. 2 seed at 4-2

• Tyler No. 3 seed at 3-3

• TVCC, Navarro, Kilgore and NEO would all be 2-4.

First tie-breaker in four-team tie is record among the teams tied. TVCC, Kilgore and NEO would all be 2-1 and Navarro would be 0-3 and eliminated. That would leave three teams tied and the point differential tie-breaker would then go into effect for a three-team tie. TVCC and NEO would both be +8 and Kilgore -16. Kilgore would be eliminated and since TVCC beat NEO, TVCC would be the No. 4 seed.
