I can see how an agency trying to provide instant relief might skimp on background checks. After the storm folks needed help immediately, not three days later. Imagine the criticism if FEMA had thrown a bunch of red tape at victims.

Instead, we paid for a tattoo, a handgun, a ring, and $438-a-day hotel rooms.

What kind of “government by the people” do you get if the people are crooked?
