Looking Glass opening

“Somewhere out There” is one piece of work by Athens artist Christi Barrett that will be on display Saturday night at 211 Art Gallery.

There are scores of events happening Saturday night in celebration of the Christmas season. One of those events is the “Through the Looking Glass” reception party which opens at 211 Art Gallery at 7 p.m.

The opening celebrates the arrival of new pieces of work from Athens artist Christi Barrett and follows the annual downtown Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m.

“I love that the musical and visual artists and the community are coming together in celebration of Christmas,” said Barrett. “It is shaping up to be an amazing evening in Athens for all age groups.”

This event is open to the public free of charge and will feature live music from a new and upcoming local band “Fernweh.”

Kid friendly beverages will be available.

211 Art Gallery is located at 211 N. Palestine Street in Athens Texas.

“Through the Looking Glass” is being held in conjunction with “Jingle Jam.”
