“We could use a little rain.”
That’s a phrase you’ve probably been hearing lately, and Henderson County Texas Agrilife Extension Agent Rick Hirsch says we need it soon.
“We had a lot of rain in the winter time, but over the last six weeks, we’ve been getting dry,” Hirsch said. “These high winds we’ve had over the last week or so are depleating the moisture more than might be normal.”
National Weather Service forcasts for the weekend indicate that rain is possible for the county. Farmers and ranchers are hoping to see a steady soaking rain, rather than a violent storm that brings high winds and heavy rain for a short period.
