If you are an avid art lover, you might want to take notice of a sale, just off the square on north State Highway 19 Saturday.
Items from the former North East Texas Center For The Arts will be on sale at 219 N. State Highway 19 in the old Sweet Pea building just off the square.
Local Artist Charlie Bullock said many items were left once the center closed, and he wants the public to have a chance to purchase them.
All proceeds from the sale will go to the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy.
“I teach at the school, and I thought this would be a great way for us to give to the school to help them with their arts programs,” Bullock said. “There are so many different items for people to browse through, and the kids at the Academy have worked with some of the things that were not finished to make them really nice.”
Some of the items to be sold are paintings, pottery, frames, art work and photography equipment. Other items include desks, office chairs, mosaics, National Geographic magazines, rolling carts and tables and chairs.
