It has been more than four months since the disappearance of 24-year-old Brownsboro resident Brandi Ellen Wells.

The Laura Recovery Center, out of Friendswood, has organized a second search for Wells set for Saturday.

Wells was last seen recorded on surveillance cameras around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 3, leaving Graham Central Station, a night club in Longview. She was alone.

Wells’ vehicle was found abandoned on the shoulder of the west bound lanes of Interstate 20 the following day by Texas state troopers.

Saturday’s search will begin at the Elks Club Lodge, 2101 East Marshall Ave., in Longview. Those interested in volunteering are asked to meet at the lodge at 8 a.m.

“During the last search there were places that we felt needed more searching,” Tyler resident Ellen Tant, Wells’ mother, said.

Tant’s sister, along with the holiday season, prompted the upcoming search.

“My sister is coming from San Antonio and wanted to do a search while she was here,” Tant said. “It’s the only present we can give Brandi.”

Although neither police nor the family have found or heard any new information since her disappearance, they felt like it was a good time to look again.

“I understand it’s a few days before Christmas, but put yourself in my shoes,” Tant said. “This time of year is tough to say the least.

“She will be gone five months in a couple of days. You just feel guilty for not being able to protect your child,” she added.

Tant is meeting Friday with members of the Laura Recovery Center to discuss places to be covered during the search.

According to Longview Police Sgt. Shaun Pendleton, Tant reported her daughter last seen Wednesday, Aug. 2.

No foul play is suspected.

“Our detectives are following up on the case. They are checking any and every lead they possibly can to help them with the case,” Sgt. Pendleton said in an earlier interview. “Crime investigators will continue to follow the case until they no longer have any leads.”

The Laura Recovery Center’s first search for Wells occurred Sept. 23 and 24, with no luck.

Wells is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, has shoulder-length blonde hair and weighs about 120 pounds.
