The Athens Police Department responded to a suspicious person complaint, and made a drug arrest on East Tyler Street Sunday night.
Kyle Edward Schlebach, 30, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, loitering and public intoxication. He was released on Monday morning, with bond set at $4,500.
Robert William Jackson, 43, was also arrested at the scene, and charged with public intoxication and loitering. He was ticketed and released.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department reports said officers responded to a suspicious person complaint at about 10 a.m. concerning a man wearing camouflage and carrying what appeared to be a rifle. The man was seen in the 1400 block of East Tyler Street behind Sonic and the Morton Small Animal Clinic.
Officer Jonathan Hutchison arrived less than a minute later, followed by Officer Michael Reynolds, Cpl. Roger Keith and Sgt. Jason Bosher.
Hutchison arrested Schlebach, and Reynolds arrested Jackson.
The dangerous drug charge against Schlebach resulted from pills found in his possession. No charges were filed concerning the firearm, which turned out to be an air rifle and not illegal.
