District Attorney Scott McKee was the main speaker at the Lone Star Republican Women's recent meeting.  He gave an overview of the work load of the District Attorney's office which has no less than 120 cases per month. 

He recognized the fine work of Sheriff  Ray Nutt in taking the fight to the crime, rather than waiting for the crime to come to us. 

Anita Smith, who has worked in the tax office for 23 years is running against Milburn Chaney who has been the Tax Assessor for 24 years.  Chaney is running as a Republican for the first time, stating that he did not leave the party. It left his political views. 

David Bellow gave an overview of what his job entails as the Executive Committeeman for District 3.  He addressed the problems developing with the redistricting of Texas districts, which is currently before the Supreme Court.
