The Polar Express train will leave Mabank on Dec. 7 in a tradition of a hometown Christmas celebration with family and friends.

Mabank’s Market Street will come alive with the sights and sounds of the season as it’s transformed into an Ole’ Fashioned Christmas, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitors can walk the streets while listening to Christmas carolers and receiving free hot beverages, popcorn and cookies. The massive model-train exhibit will be at Mabank City Hall, and the Tri-County Library will host story time. Santa is also expected.

Local businesses and clubs will provide free craft and kids’ activities throughout the evening. The tradition was started a few years ago and is sponsored by the city of Mabank and the Mabank chapter of the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
