Jayson Larson has returned to the Athens Daily Review to serve as editor, publisher David Sullens has announced.

Larson, 30, returns to the Review after serving eight months as the sports editor for The Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune in Northeast Texas.

“We’re thrilled to have Jayson back,” Sullens said. “His knowledge of the community — even more than his skills as a journalist — is a real asset to this newspaper.”

Larson is married with two children. His wife, Brandi, is a teacher.

“I enjoyed my time in Mount Pleasant, but we’re so excited to be home,” Larson said.

Larson began his career at the Review in 1999 and has also served as editor at the Cedar Creek Pilot.
