The first baby born in Henderson County in 2015 was Graci Mae Stinson, who is shown above at the age of five days. She is shown with her parents, Russell and Patricia Stinson, of Berryville.

Meet Graci Mae Stinson the first new resident of Henderson County for 2015.

She was due on Jan. 20, but Graci Mae made her appearance at East Texas Medical Center (ETMC)  in Athens  during the early morning hours on Jan. 1.

The 6-pound 2-ounce Graci was delivered at 3:27 a.m., and was  the first child born in Henderson County in the new year.

Parents Russell and Patricia Stinson of Berryville, along with sisters Paiten Elizabeth Stinson and Madison Kay Hanna, welcomed Graci into the world and their family.

Graci Mae measured 18 inches, and was delivered via cesarean section by Dr. Gregory Mondini and Michael Swartwood.

Stinson said she just went into early labor to have the baby 19 days ahead of schedule.

Because Graci was the first baby born in 2015, the hospital and OB staff presented the parents with a gift basket. The basket included: diapers donated by Brookshire’s; a Lindor mini bag for mom, nail clippers, baby wipes and healthcare set donated by CVS Pharmacy; five free pizzas donated by Pizza Hut; free lunch for mom and donated by McAlister's Deli; nursery organizer, bath set, book of firsts and two-piece sleep set donated by Wal-Mart; and handmade baby booties, baby blanket and booties set from Project Angel Kisses.

Stinson said she and Graci are at home doing well.

“The  girls are so excited about the new baby. They just love her,” said Stinson.
