If you are looking for a reason to try the somewhat new restaurant, Bubba Jeans, in Malakoff you can go for the children.

At least to help the teens — teen court to be precise.

The Henderson County Teen Court Association will be holding a fund-raiser at Bubba Jeans Feb. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Along with chili and dessert there will be an auction, complete with professional auctioneer.

Gift certificates, gift baskets and more will be auctioned off.

Henderson County Teen Court is a non-profit organization which sentences teens who plead guilty to Class C Misdemeanors.

Court is held at Malakoff City Hall.

Henderson County students ages 10 to 18 make up the jury.

There is also a young prosecutor program taught by an Assistant District Attorney.

Renee Markum said she put her twin 10th graders in the program to help them give them a good activity to put on a college application.

She said anyone wanting to know more about the court or the fund-raiser should call 903-451-2275.
