Cross Roads Elementary and Cross Roads Junior High received Distinguished status from the Texas Education Agency, and a representative from TEA was at a recent school board meeting to present Cross Roads Independent School district with the awards.
To become a distinguished school, the school must meet the following criteria: Title 1 Part A campus in 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011; Maintain a campus residing population of 40 percent or more low income in 2010-2011; met AYP in 2009 and 2010; achieved a campus rating in Spring 2010 of Exemplary; achieved a campus rating in Spring 2009 of either Exemplary or Recognized; and achieved a campus rating in Spring 2008 of either Exemplary or Recognized.
This awards recognizes schools that have consistently demonstrated strong academic performances over a 3-year period.
