Book Leaf Press has announced that a book signing event will be at the Henderson County Clint W. Murchison Memorial Library Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon.  The library is located at 121 S. Prairieville St.

The signing will be for the recently-launched novel titled, “Listen for the Mourning Dove” by author F.C. Pearce.

Originally from Texas, the author will be speaking and signing her books.  The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

“I'm so looking forward to traveling to Athens to meet new friends, and to visit with old friends about my debut novel, ‘Listen for the Mourning Dove.’ It's fitting that the book tour returns to my home state of Texas.”

After graduated from Ballinger High School in central west Texas, the author was educated in liberal arts at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri where she studied creative writing.

After graduating, she was a model in Dallas, and later lived overseas.  As time passed, she moved to Washington, D.C. She has been a business owner, project manager, copywriter and freelance writer.  She currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The story in the book ranges in dates from 1953 to 1993. It is the story of a close-knit family, and a group of strangers who become inextricably lined over the 40-year period by a tragic event. The age-old theme of good-versus-evil comes into play.

A limited number of books will be available to purchase at the signing payable by cash or check.

The cost is $20, which includes shipping and handling. The book can also be purchased In advance at in either print or e-book format, or ordered at the signing.
