The Alzheimer's Coalition of Henderson County was formed to provide support services for caregivers affected by the disease and related dementias. They offer respite services for caregivers.
According to the Alzheimer's Coalition statistics, about 4.5 million American's have it. The disease is progressive, irreversible and, to date, incurable. It is the most common cause of dementia.
Alzheimer's caregivers often have to sit all day with their stricken spouses or parents or family members. Respite care gives a break to those care givers.
