The Athens Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 6 p.m. in the District Support Center Board Room for its monthly meeting.
Several action items are on the agenda, including the consideration of meal prices for the 2014-15 school year.
Currently, breakfast is $1.50 across the district, while lunch is $2.60 for the middle and high school and $2.40 for intermediate and elementary students.
Adult breakfast is $1.80 districtwide, while lunch is $3.25.
Reduced meal prices are available. The current meal pricing structure was set during the April 2013 board meeting.
Other action items on the agenda include: consideration of the renewal for Chartwell's Dining Services; consideration of the Texas Association of School Boards Energy Cooperative Letter of Commitment; consideration of disposition of the house at 404 Royal St.; and three changes to local policy.
During the March board meeting, the trustees voted to purchase property at 404 Royall St. at a price of $53,515. The district transfered $55,000 from the local maintenance fund balance to the capital projects fund to cover the purchase.
Superintendent Blake Stiles said the acquisition of the property will square up property the district bought earlier.
Local policy changes scheduled to be addressed tonight include: those for board meetings, academic achievement and graduation; and students rights and responsibilities regarding interrogations and searches.
The board will consider three purchases over $10,000. Those include: a contract for visually-impaired/orientation and mobility; dish machine for the high school kitchen; and purchase of turf for the baseball field house at Athens High.
