Athens High School is coming to the assistance of the Ty Thomison family and will offer fans at Friday night’s season opener at Bruce Field a chance to help.

Thomison is the offensive coordinator at Brownsboro High School. His 8-year-old son Tucker was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He has already started treatments.

AHS head coach Jim Wommack said buckets would be placed at the gates on both sides of Bruce Stadium to give fans a chance to make donations. All money raised will benefit the Thomison family and help defray medical costs.

“We hope our fans, and Wills Point fans, will give generously and help the Thomison family,” Wommack said.
