Athens Middle School regrets to announce that the scheduled pick-up planned today (Thursday, Aug. 21) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. has been canceled.

Sixth graders are asked to pick up their schedules on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Also, during the same time on Saturday, seventh graders must turn in their shot records in order to attend school.

Any seventh grade students who are not able to turn in their shot records Saturday from 9 a.m. 11 a.m. should bring them by the AMS office Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Seventh and eighth grade students will receive their schedules Monday morning after assembly.

“We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and understand it’s frustrating,” said AMS Principal Winston McCowan.

All students will gather in the gym Monday morning. Sixth graders will be dismissed to their first period classes. Seventh and eighth graders will then go to tables in the gym set up by last names in order to pick up their schedules and then continue on to their first class.

“We’re very grateful for the patience and understanding of both our parents and students,” said McCowan. “This is a bump in the road, and we know our students are able to adapt and thrive.”
