ATHENS — The Henderson County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety Game Wardens assisted in locating an plane that went down in Lake Palestine early Thursday. The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
Sheriff Ray Nutt said Deputy Jim Langford and Game Warden Shawn Smith went to the lake at about 1 a.m to begin searching for the plane by boat. Shortly after 5 a.m., Nutt said, he recieved word that the wrecked plane was found. The plane was actually recovered in Anderson County, Nutt said.
Divers were at the scene Thursday morning to continue recovery efforts. More details will be released when available.
