BREAKING NEWS: Mays trial recesses, defendant may have collapsed

The capital murder trial of Randall Wayne Mays will not resume until 1 p.m., according to 392nd District Court Judge Carter Tarrance. No announcement was made as to why the extended recess was being held. However, one observer in the courtroom reported seeing Mays collapse during a break. Henderson County District Attorney Donna Bennett was preparing to show jurors a one-hour-long video taken from the dash cam of a Henderson County Sheriff's patrol car on May 17, 2007. The video captured at least some of the incident that led to the shooting deaths of 61-year-old Deputy Tony Ogburn and 63-year-old Investigator Paul Habelt.

No further information was available at this time. The Review will provide updates throughout the day.
