HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING: EHS’ Bramblitt advancing to state

WILLS POINT — The Eustace Bulldogs’ powerlifting team had a strong showing this past weekend in the regional powerlifting meet held at Wills Point High School.

Casey Bramblitt, Sunni Goodell, and Kendra Rogers represented the women’s team.

Bramblitt was the top lifter finishing first in her weight class, sending her to the state powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi March 16th.

Sunni finished fifth in her weight class, breaking her personal lifting records for the year, and Kendra was unable to finish the meet after failing to get a squat max from the judges.

For the Bulldogs, Trey Russell and Ethan Hoops competed in Elkhart on Saturday morning. They both finished sixth in their weight class and set personal records for the year.

AHS girls’ finish year at regional meet

WILLS POINT — The Athens Lady Hornets powerlifting team finished their season at the Region III Division 2 meet on Saturday.

Wendi Pacheco brought home a fifth place medal in the 114 lb class with a total lift of 585 lbs.

Ingrid Castaneda took seventh place with a total lift of 560 pounds in her weight class.

CeCe Monmouth placed 10th with a total lift of 715 lbs.

Each one of these girls finished in the top ten in the region above hundreds of other girls.
