PALESTINE —
After six lead changes in Friday's game at Palestine Tournament, the Brownsboro Bears pulled out a 8-7 win over Crockett.
The Bears' managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. Tyler Thomison nailed a three-run double that scored three runs for the Bears.
Teammates Aaron Ramirez, Shelby Rogers and Miles Spencer scored on the play.
Raul Gutierrez recorded the win for the Bears. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Brownsboro 15, Westwood 0
PALESTINE — In game 2 on Friday, Rogers threw a complete game no hitter in their 15-0 win over Palestine Westwood.
Rogers struck out six batters and walked one.
The offense exploded in the fourth. In the inning, BHS scored eight runs.
Gutierrez racked up three RBIs on three hits for Brownsboro. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth innings.
BHS scored three runs on an RBI double by Chris Davis, an error, and a groundout by Ryan Covington.
They were able to add four more runs in the top of the second.
Rusk 6, Brownsboro 4
PALESTINE — The Bears lost their game on Saturday to the Rusk Eagles in the final inning of play.
Davis boosted his batting average after going 3-for-3 at the plate. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
Brownsboro 6, Wills Point 5
BROWNSBORO — Davis had two extra base hits as Brownsboro took home a 6-5 victory over Wills Point in seven innings at Bear Baseball Field on Monday.
He tripled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Gutierrez recorded the win for the Bears. He tossed two-thirds of an inning of shutout ball. Gutierrez struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Aaron Sherman, Davis and Covington helped lead the Bears. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
Brownsboro JV 4, Van JV 3
VAN — The Brownsboro junior varsity gold team picked up their first win of the season with a 4-3 win on Monday.
The Bears fell behind by a score of 3-2 after the first inning.
They battled back for two runs in the top of the third for the win.
Chitwood was the winning pitcher for the Bears.
Brownsboro 9, Van 1
VAN — In game two of their, Brownsboro picked up the sweep with a 9-1 win over Van.
Brownsboro scored runs in every inning except for the second inning.
Womack was the winning pitcher in the nightcap.
The junior varsity team will host a tournament this Thursday-Saturday at Bear Field.
