HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Four Lady Cats named to 14-1A team

CROSS ROADS — Four Cross Roads Lady Cats have been named to the 14-1A all-district team.

Natalee Alexander and Kennedy Rogers were second-team selections for the Lady Cats, while Laura Waldo and Kelsie Lookabaugh were honorable mention picks.

Lookabaugh, Rogers and Alexander also were named to the academic all-district team, along with teammates Destiny McCracken, Paulette Burgess, Kaitlin Gorden, Kourtney Hazelip, Shayna Murph, Kaven Kjeldgaard and Makayla Arnold.

District champion Cayuga dominated the all-district team, winning five of nine superlative spots. Shawnta Knox was named Most Valuable Player, Molly Griffey was named Most Valuable Setter, Danielle Anderson was honored as Most Valuable Blocker, Cory McCulloch was named co-Defensive Most Valuable Player and Magen Humphreys was named Coach of the Year.

Kerens’ Brittany McClure was named Most Valuable Server and teammate Kayla Kilcrease was co-Most Valuable Defensive Player.
