FRIDAY NIGHT FLASHBACK: Ray gets 200th win as Trinidad crushes Calvert, 53-39

CALVERT — Trinidad head coach Kevin Ray waited a long time to get his first win at Calvert. The wait proved worth it.

Trinidad's 53-39 win over Calvert was the 200th career coaching victory for Ray, who led Trinidad to the state six-man championship in 1998 during his first tenure as Trojan mentor.

“Our kids played tough,” Ray said. “We knew it was going to be a physical game and our kids really took it to them.

“We're really excited to get this win.”

The win improved the Trojans to 6-3 on the year and 1-1 in district. Trinidad can claim a playoff berth with a win against Karnack next week.

Dustin Bannister caught two touchdown passes from K.O. Ray, who completed five-of-five passes.

“Dustin really made some big catches for us,” Kevin Ray said.

Zach Spencer and Jordon Wright also played key roles in the win, according to Ray.

Trinidad led 59-23 going into the fourth quarter.
