LONGVIEW —
After Tuesday's 3-1 win over Edgewood, Eustace head coach Chuck Powers seemed a little unsatisfied. He knew his Lady Bulldogs could play better.
So the Lady Bulldogs showed him what "better" looks like on Thursday.
The Lady Bulldogs (30-8) swept the District 16-2A Redwater Lady Dragons, 3-1, at Longview High School. The win sends Eustace to the regional quarterfinals for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
Eustace beat Redwater by scores of 25-15; 25-14; and 25-22.
Eustace will face Commerce next Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Region II-2A quarterfinals at Terrell High School.
"We played with more intensity last night for a change," Powers said of the match against Redwater. "I thought the kids did a good job of executing our game plan."
Casey Bramblitt led Eustace with 11 kills, while Kaci Richards had seven kills and four blocks. Bethany Strickland had four kills, four aces and one block; Peyton DiBari had two aces and four kills; Mallory Keeling pitched in three aces, one block and 21 assists; and Chelsea Oldham had four assists and one ace.
