HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING: Henderson County lifters wrap year at state

Athens — Henderson County area powerlifters wrapped up their season on Friday and  Saturday at the state powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi.

Athens senior powerlifter Cesaleigh Monmouth did not place at the Class 3A state powerlifting meet on Saturday in Corpus Christi.

She was unable to complete a lift in the squat, bench press or deadlift.

For Mabank, Deana Lane completed a lift in the squat at 325 pounds in the the 220-pound weight class but was disqualified from the meet.

Brownsboro lifter Ashley Hernandez finished 13th place in the 148-pound weight class with a total lift of 725 pounds.

Hernandez lifted 310 pounds in the squat, 145 pounds in the bench press and 270 pounds in the deadlift.

On Friday, lifters from Eustace, Malakoff and Kemp competed in the Class 2A meet.

For Eustace, Sunni Goodell finished in eighth place in the 220-pound weight class with a total lift of 835 pounds.

Goodell lifted 330 pounds in the squat and the deadlift and lifted 175 pounds in the bench press.

Malakoff's Deondra Dowell also finished in eighth place in the 181-pound weight class with a total lift of 775 pounds.

Dowell lifted 285 pounds in the squat, 150 pounds in the bench press and 340 pounds in the deadlift.

For Kemp, Kayla Hale was seventh in the 105-pound weight class with a total lift of 600 pounds.

She finished with a 240 pound lift in the squat and the deadlift and a 120 pound total in the bench press.

Teammate Kalee Anderson finished 12th in the 123-pound weight class with a total lift of 640 pounds.

She lifted a total of 265 pounds in the squat, 120 pounds in the bench press and 255 pounds in the deadlift.

Brianna Pavatt finished in 16th place for Kemp in the 148-pound weight class with a total lift of 705 pounds.

She lifted 280 pounds in the squat, 120 pounds in the bench press and 305 pounds in the deadlift.
