WHITEHOUSE —
The Athens Senators will have to wait an extra day to resume their hunt for a state championship.
Like many other teams across the region, the Senators’ Wednesday game was wiped out due to rain. Their game, against the Whitehouse Warriors, will now be played Thursday at 6 p.m. as the Texas Teenage Baseball Machine Pitch State Tournament continues.
The Senators are coming off a 19-16 win over the Chandler Reds during the opening day of the tournament Monday.
With the win, the Senators earned an off day Tuesday.
