FRIDAY NIGHT FLASHBACK: Cross Roads falls on senior night 67-14 to Cayuga

CROSS ROADS — The Cross Roads Bobcats wrapped up senior night Friday night with a disappointing 67-14 loss to the Cayuga Wildcats Friday night at Bobcats Stadium.

With the loss, coach Jim Bradford's Bobcats are 2-7 overall and 1-3 in District 6-A, Division I play.

They have been eliminated from post season play and will wrap up the season next week at Itasca.

Cayuga improved to 8-1 on the year and 3-1 in district play. Cayuga will wrap up district play hosting Dallas Gateway next Friday night.

The Cross Roads defense had a hard time containing Cayuga junior running back Keshawn Jackson — who finished with 21 carries for 207 yards and six touchdowns.

When the Wildcats were not handing the ball off to Jackson, they were going to junior backup tailback Jimmy Pitts who also had a nice night with four carries for 40 yards and two first half touchdowns.

Cayuga scored the first 42 points of the game before Bobcats senior tailback Raleigh Seilheimer scored his first touchdown of the game later in the first half.

Seilheimer found an opening and reversed field for a 75-yard touchdown run down the left sideline with 45 seconds remaining in the first half. The Bobcats went for two as quarterback Aaron Arden found Trey Hazelip for the two-point conversion.

After 25 unanswered points from Cayuga on touchdown runs from Jackson of three and 12 yards and a 35 yard touchdown run by Cota Wilburn, the Wildcats also had a five yard interception return from Jalyn Wilson to put the game out of reach.

Seilheimer wrapped up the scoring with a five yard touchdown run at the final horn for the 67-14 finale.

Cayuga outgained Cross Roads, 373-160 yards of offense as they rushed for 355 yards on 38 carries.

Cross Roads was led by Seilheimer with 14 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Arden finished six-of-14 for 44 yards and one interception.
