The Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals took care of business in their final home match of the season Wednesday night at Cardinal Gym.
The Lady Cardinals beat Navarro on sophomore night in three games by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-20.
With the win, coach Tosha Spain team is now 17-13 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
TVCC has two more conference games against No. 1-ranked Tyler on Friday and No. 9-ranked Panola before ending the season Nov. 4 against Hill College.
The match on Friday against Tyler is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Wagstaff Gymnasium in Tyler.
Against Navarro, Navarro cut into the TVCC deficit in Game 1 at 12-10 on a kill from Hailee Showers off an assist from Katie Billeaud.
TVCC then blew up Game 1 with eight straight points behind the serving of sophomore Ryleigh Thompson.
During the run, the Lady Cardinals had kills from Ariana Kaleo and Kaitlyn McShan. They also had blocks from Ashlynn Caldwell and Brittney Griffith.
At one point, TVCC held an 18-10 lead in Game 1 before Navarro stormed back to tie the game at 19-19 on a block by Kelsi Scmidtberger and Billeaud.
With TVCC having a chance to put the game away at 24-22, Navarro was able to cut into the lead once again as Showers blasted a kill down the line to extend the game.
On the next play, McShan was able to end the game with a kill of her own and the 1-0 lead.
In Game 2, TVCC jumped out to a 13-9 lead as Caldwell put down a kill off an assist from Thompson.
Later in the game, TVCC had two nice blocks as Griffith and Thompson got in the way of Showers. The second block gave TVCC a 21-17 lead.
Note: This was the final home game for Kaleo, Sara Cruz, Thompson and McShan. Amelie Guinci could return next year if she used a medical redshirt for her freshman season.
