AMS FOOTBALL: Athens subvarsity splits games against Palestine

Athens — The Athens 8th grade B team won their game on Thursday night 6-0 over the visiting Palestine Wildcats.

The game's only points were scored on a 60 yard touchdown run by Jacob Moore on his first carry of the season.

The Hornets played great defense and earned a shut out.

The 8th grade A team lost a close game 14-7. Offensively the Hornets were led by Xavius Fulton's passing.

Fulton completed passes to Miles Koehler and Chris Taylor during the game.

Defensively Athens contained a tough Palestine team very well.

The defense was highlighted by an impressive interception by Javiry Bowman.

Athens has a bye week next week. Their next game will be in Canton on October 10 starting at 6:30 p.m.
