HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: CRHS wins volleyball district opener over Coolidge

CROSS ROADS — The Cross Roads LadyCats improved to 13-7 on the year and 1-0 in district play with a four-game win over Coolidge Saturday morning.

Cross Roads won by scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-17 and 27-25.

The LadyCats were led by Laura Waldo with two aces and 16 digs, Kaitlyn Gordon — who went 22 of 23 serving with two digs and Kelsi Lookabaugh — who went 18-of-18 serving with 30 assists.

Savanna Himes was 16-of-16 serving, Rebecca Kramer was seven-of-eight serving with 10 digs and eight kills.

Katelyn Smith went nine-for-nine in serving, Paulette Burgess had 21 kills, Kourtney Hazelip  had five kills, Pepper Norwood had five digs and Sara Spivey had three kills.

Cross Roads will face Wortham tonight with the junior varsity starting at 5 p.m.

Malakoff volleyball loses to Kemp

KEMP — The Malakoff Lady Tigers were swept in volleyball action to Kemp Friday night.

The Lady Tigers lost by scores of 23-25, 21-25 and 16-25.

Malakoff will face Scurry-Rosser tonight in district action.

Eustace sweeps Faith Family Friday

EUSTACE — The Eustace Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-0 in district with a big win over Faith Family.

Eustace won by scores of 25-1, 25-4 and 25-6.

Eustace travels to Red Oak Life tonight in district volleyball action.
