LARUE — The LaPoynor boys cross country team will compete at regionals this Saturday in Humble after winning a district championship at the 23-1A meet at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville recently.
The JV boys and girls teams also won district titles, and the varsity girls finished in fifth place.
“They have worked extremely hard all year long and their results show it,” LaPoynor cross country coach Ron Cole said. “I’m proud of each and every one of our runners.”
Varsity boys’ finishes are as follows: Kyle Forester, 6th (19:07); Coy Gonzalez, 9th (19:50); Justin Hilton, 12th (20:25); Chris Johannes, 13th (20:30); Logan McClelland, 14th (20:32); Gaston Aguilar, 15th (20:49); and Tanner Burch, 23rd (21:54).
On the varsity girls side, finishers were: Domnique Johnson, 22nd (16:49); Kayla Wallace, 23rd (17:09); Alexis Terry, 29th (17:49); Brooke Mattern, 30th (18:10); Brea Ness, 31st (18:14); Tiffany Forester, 32nd (18:20); and Jensen Anderson, 35th (18:34).
