CROCKETT — The Brownsboro Bears stopped Crockett on what would have been a game-winning two-point conversion in overtime to claim a 41-40 win over the Bulldogs Friday night.
With the win, Brownsboro bounced back from its first loss of the season suffered last week to Palestine and clinched a spot in the playoffs. With Palestine’s loss to Athens Friday, the Hornets and Bears are still in position to win at least a share of the District 20-3A championship.
With the win, Brownsboro improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in District 20-3A play.
Crockett was officially eliminated from playoff contention.
The Bears close out the regular season next week at home against the Athens Hornets.
