TRINIDAD — The Trinidad Trojans used two double digit scoring quarters to roll past the Bynum Bulldogs, 62-12, in just three quarters Friday night at Trojan Field.
Trojan running back Marcus Allen had 12 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns.
The opening score for the Trojans came at the 4:03 mark when Tyler Sapp connected with Darius Boggas from 1 yard away. The kick failed.
At 3:34 Allen found the end zone on a 13 yard run. The kick was good from Fabian Ayala. After that, Bynum scored on a 40-yard run at the 2:13 mark of the first quarter. The kick was good.
Trinidad came right back with 2:02 showing on the clock when Brandon Pearl had a 65-yard kickoff return. The kick was good by Ayala.
The next score for Trinidad came on a 74-yard interception return. The Trojans were hitting on all cylinders by this point and very little could stop them with the score 29-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The defense for the Trojans was too much for the Bulldogs. Demarkas Crawford scooped up a fumble after a big hit and ran it back 32 yards for a score. The kick failed at the 8:02 mark of the second quarter.
Allen scored on an eight-yard run with 2:49 to go in the half. The kick was good by Ayala.
Bynun scored for its final time of the night on a 41-yard jaunt. The kick failed. With eight seconds to go in the half, Trinidad’s Pearl scored on a 1-yard run around the left end. The kick failed.
Crawford once again showed up on a big play on the defensive side of the ball when he nabbed another fumble and ran it back 28 yards to end the half.
The game ended when Joseph Williams scored at the 9:19 mark of the third quarter.
The Trojans are scheduled to travel to Greenville Christian Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
