ATHENS —
A pair of Class 2A stalwarts will face off Friday in playoff action at Bruce Field.
The Tatum Eagles, the District 9-2A champions, are scheduled to meet the District 12 runner-up Godley Wildcats in a Region III-2A area contest at 7 p.m.
Tatum is 8-2 and had a first-round bye earned by claiming a district championship. Godley is 9-2 and coming off a 37-0 bi-district victory last Friday night over Trinity.
The Harris Rating System has installed Tatum as a nine-point favorite.
The winner of Friday night’s game will advance to the regional playoff round to face this week’s winner between Franklin and Winnie East Chambers.
