Local Elder Dodge team finishes second in Bullard

BULLARD — On June 10, the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association held it's 7th annual Monte Jamison/Scott Allen scholarship golf tournament at Emerald Bay Country Club in Bullard.

There are four scholarships given to student athletic trainers.  

Two Monte Jamison scholarships that go to graduating high school seniors and two Scott Allen scholarships that go to college sophomores.

There were 22 teams playing in the tournament.  

The Carthage ISD Athletics team with Scott Surratt, Walter Preston, Tate Barber and Collin Underwood won the tournament with a score of 52.  

They were followed by the Jordan's Plant Farm team with Greg Hamilton, Kevin Childress, Dennis Alexander and John Eastman.

The Elder Dodge team with Jason McLean, Chris Frederick, Drue Shelton and Jonathon Shelton both finished with a 54.

Longest drive was won by Josh Wheeler and the closest to the pin was Colby Barron.
