HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: AHS battle Brownsboro in baseball, softball tonight

Athens — The Athens Lady Hornets softball teams travels to Brownsboro tonight for district competition.  

The baseball team was set to play in Brownsboro but  rain has forced the game to be moved to Hornet Field.

Both games will be varsity only contest with a start time of 6:30 p.m.

The Hornets look to remain perfect in District 15-3A play, while the Lady Hornets look for their second district win of the season.

Both teams travel to Canton Tuesday night., followed by a road trip to Van Friday night.

Athens JV White win 10-5 over Eustace

EUSTACE — The Athens JV White team picked up a big win over the Eustace Bulldogs.

They won the game 10-5 as Josh Sims recorded the win on the hill.

Sims allowed one unearned run.

Jack Amheiser also pitched three solid innings giving up one unearned run.

Grant Hirsch led the Hornets with two hits and two runs scored.
