Athens Middle School’s boys basketball teams came away with one win in three games Thursday night against the Crockett Bulldogs.
SEVENTH GRADE
Athens, 40, Crockett 31
The Hornets returned to action from the holiday break with a comeback win. AMS trailed 17-13 at the half.
Coach Jeff Shubert said the Hornets played more aggressively in the second half in recording the comeback win.
Raheem Miller led the Hornets with 13 points.
Desmond Johnson added nine and Anthony Sanders put in eight.
EIGHTH GRADE WHITE GAME
Crockett 19, Athens 11
Despite playing a solid game, the Hornets fell short.
Shubert said the Hornets showed great improvements from their last outing before the holiday break.
Leading scorer for the Hornets was Osiel Nieto with 4 points. He also led the team in rebounds.
EIGHTH GRADE MAROON GAME
Crockett 71, Athens 42
The Hornets ran into a talented Bulldog team.
Anthony Taylor led the Hornets with 19 points. Javonte Johnson and Michael Baker added eight each.
