KAUFMAN — The Athens Lady Hornets fell 47-38 to Princeton Tuesday morning in quarterfinal action of the 18th annual Kaufman Holiday Tournament.
Coach Keith Durrett’s Lady Hornets saw their record slip to 12-5 with the loss.
The Lady Hornets were scheduled to play defending Class A state champion Martins Mill at 9:30 a.m. today. The winner advances to the fifth-place game at 2 p.m. Martins Mill defeated AHS 37-36 in a non-district game earlier this season.
Alex Furr was the top AHS scorer with 14 points. She hit two three-pointers and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
Ashley Jacks also scored in double figures for the Lady Hornets with 11 points, including three three-pointers.
Kemia Jordan, Jasmine Blakemore and Bailey Starkes scored four each for AHS.
The Lady Hornets opened the tournament Monday with a 56-30 win over Kemp
