A Class 2A, Division II area round playoff game is on tap tonight at Bruce Field.

Franklin (7-3) is scheduled to play Hughes Springs (5-6) in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The winner moves on to face the Newton-East Chambers winner in regional quarterfinal action next week.

CLASS 2A, DIVISION II AREA PLAYOFF

7:30 p.m. Friday – Bruce Field

Districts: Franklin 20-AA (champion); Hughes Springs 17-AA (second)

Last year's meeting: The teams did not meet

Records: Franklin 7-3 (5-0): Hughes Springs 5-6 (3-2)

Franklin — Rogers 21-28; Salado 14-42; Groveton 41-14; Lovelady 35-38; Rosebud-Lott 35-14; Leon 42-6; Hearne 31-22; Marlin 35-27; Teague 35-32. Playoffs: Troup 55-7
