The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals get a second chance at No. 1-ranked and unbeaten Navarro College in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference playoffs.
TVCC (6-3) is scheduled to face the Bulldogs (9-0) at Tiger Field in Corsicana in a 3 p.m. kickoff Saturday.
In the other semifinal, Blinn is at Kilgore.
The Cardinals, enjoying a turnaround season after back-to-back 2-7 records, fell 35-6 to the Bulldogs in conference action the first Saturday in October. In the loss, the Cardinals squandered several scoring opportunities, especially early in the game.
The Cardinals are the No. 4 seed in the playoffs, going 4-3 in league play. In addition to losing to Navarro, the Cardinals also lost to Blinn and Kilgore.
Saturday’s winners will play for the regional title next Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
