Mabank bows out

WHITEHOUSE — The District 13-AAA champion and 10th-ranked Mabank Lady Panthers saw their volleyball season end Tuesday night with a four-game loss to No. 2 White Oak . Mabank fell 19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19.

The loss ended the Lady Panthers’ season at 29-13.

White Oak upped its mark to 39-1 to advance to the Region II-AAA Tournament Friday and Saturday at Texas A&M-Commerce.;

Mabank was led by senior Miranda Groom. She had 20 kills and a block.

Hali Schultz had 15 kills and a block for the Lady Panthers.

The Lady Roughnecks will face either Commerce or Lovejoy in regional semifinal action. Athens (31-8) will take on either Frisco Wakeland or Royse City in the other.
