First-year coach Heath Ragle's Eustace Bulldogs bounced back in a big way against the Grand Saline Indians with a 47-6 win Friday night at the Boneyard.
With the win, Eustace is now 4-5 on the year and 2-3 in District 7-2A, Division I play with a bye week next week. The Bulldogs will wrap up the year on Nov. 8 when they travel to Lone Oak.
On Friday, EHS had two touchdown from Jesus Barcenas of five yards each. Teammates Abed Abuhatab had touchdown runs of 1 and 23 yards, while Forrest Lane had a 34-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Morgan. Lance Rogers and Keenan Hargest had touchdown runs of five and 35 yards respectively in the win.
The Bulldogs finished the night with 53 carries for 350 yards. Barcenas was the leading rusher with 23 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Abuhatab had 10 carries for 129 yards and two scores.
The Eustace defense held Grand Saline (0-8, 0-3) to 144 yards of total offense, led by Brant Thayer with 55 yards rushing on eight carries.
