DISTRICT 15-3A CROSS COUNTRY: Brownsboro’s Milligan finishes in first place at District 15-3A meet

CANTON — Six Henderson County cross country runners placed in the top five at the District 15-3A meet held Monday morning at the Canton First Monday Trade’s Day grounds.

Brownsboro Bears runner Cameron Milligan won the individual title in the varsity boys division with a time of 17:27, while Mabank’s Adam Reeves placed third in a time of 18:33 at the district meet. Mabank’s  Harman Beyer qualified for regionals in fifth in a time of 18:58.

Brownsboro’s Garrett Essary with 18th in 20:59, while teammate Radley Feiner was 23rd in 21:43.

Athens had two runners finish in the top five as Pedro Galvan finished fourth overall with a time of 18:57, while Jordy Castenada finished in sixth place in a time of 19:23.

For Athens, teammates Alexis Beltran was 26th, Pedro Alanis was 28th, Rodrigo Contreras was 29th, Uleses Garcia was 32nd and Raul de la Fuente was 34th.

Coach Gerald Anthony said those times were Galvan and Castenada’s slowest times of the year.

The Athens varsity boys team finished third overall in the team standing’s.

In the junior varsity boys division, Mabank finished in first place in the team standing’s ahead of Athens.

The Panthers were led by Cameron Boren with a time of 19:50, Alejandro Tamez  was third in 21:39, Trystin Edwards was fourth in  21:41, Weston Spence was seventh in 23:10 and Chaney Johnson was 11th in 25:14.

In the junior varsity girls  division, Mabank finished in first in the team standings.

They were led by Maci Hall with a second place time of 15:48, Ana Sanchez was third with a time of 15:51, Summer Garza was fifth in 17:04, Peighton Holyfield was ninth in 18:51 and Kristina Flatt was 10th in a time of 19:14.

Mabank’s Carson Marsh finished in sixth place with a time of 14:12 in the varsity girls division, while teammate Heather Bayless was ninth.

The Regional meet will be held on Nov. 2 at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie.
