HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: MHS Tigers release 2014 football schedule

MALAKOFF — Malakoff High School has released its 2014 football schedule following one of its best seasons in school history.

The Tigers’ — who finished last season at 11-2 —broke four school records with most points scored (635), most points scored in a game (73 versus Grand Saline), most games played (13) and most playoff wins in a season with two.

The Tigers’ will open the season August 29 on the road at Mildred.

They will then face last year’s Class 2A Regional quarterfinalist in the Daingerfield Tigers at home on September 5.

They will wrap up the non-district schedule with two-of-three games on the road.

Following a bye week, fans will see Malakoff open District 11-3A play at home against the Palestine Westwood Panthers.

Malakoff will head on the road the following week to Elkhart before hosting Teague on Oct. 24.

Halloween night, the Kemp Yellowjackets will host the Tigers before Malakoff wraps the season against their rival in the Eustace Bulldogs at Tigers Stadium.
