Brownsboro handles Wills Point, 28-15
WILLS POINT — The Brownsboro Bears scored in each of the first three quarters to drop the Wills Point Tigers, 28-15, Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
The win raised the Bears to 3-0 on the season, while Wills Point fell to 3-1 on the year.
Brownsboro is scheduled to host Rains Friday at Bear Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
It was Brownsboro that scored in the opening quarter behind the running of Jon Thompson from three yards out. Jose Mendez added the extra point to make the score, 7-0.
Bears quarterback Zach Bailey lit things up through the air on Brownsboro’s second score, connecting with Ryan Cawthon on a 31-yard pass. Mendez added the PAT to make the score 14-0 at the end of the first half.
Trent Jurica scored for the Tigers to start the second half from three yards away on a run around the right side. Cyle Henderson added the two-point conversion to make the score 14-8 in the third quarter.
BHS scored two times in the third quarter. Cameron Warren scored on a one-yard run and Bailey took it in from 12 yards out. Warren added the two-point conversion to make the score 28-8.
Seth Butler scored for the Tigers on a 38-yard interception return to round out the scoring. Evann Padilla kicked the PAT.
